Your Ultimate Guide to Scoring Amazing Deals for Your Aussie Adventure 🚐💨

Hey Adventurers!

You’ve probably heard me say this before, but one of my absolute favourite things is getting the best travel deals while hitting the road around Australia. Who doesn’t love discovering budget-friendly campgrounds, finding those dream stays, or scoring deals on fuel?

When Tim and I planned our lap around Australia, we made it our mission to travel smart without breaking the bank. And now, I’m excited to share some of the best tips I’ve learned along the way to help you enjoy your adventure while keeping your budget intact.

TIP #1: Book Early for Caravan Parks and National Parks
When you’re heading out on a lap, securing a spot at popular caravan parks and national parks early can make a world of difference. Especially in peak seasons, prices shoot up fast, and spots get snapped up even quicker. Sites like Hipcamp and Camps Australiawide are goldmines for finding those hidden gems. And if you’re flexible with your travel dates, you can often snag early-bird discounts.

TIP #2: Stay in Free and Low-Cost Campsites
Australia is full of incredible free and low-cost campsites that’ll give you the most stunning views without draining your wallet. We found some real gems in places like the Nullarbor (just check out our video here!) Camp Australia is your best friend for this — it’s how we found a lot of beautiful, secluded spots!

TIP #3: Take Advantage of Fuel Apps
Fuel is one of the biggest expenses on a road trip, but you can save a heap by using websites like Petrol Spy. Tim is always checking online to make sure we are always getting the best price. It also helps to travel with a jerry - if you know fuel is going to be expensive, fill up a jerry at a cheaper spot.

TIP #4: Sign Up for Camper Loyalty Programs
Many caravan parks offer loyalty programs that give you discounts on stays, fuel, and even meals. We recommend joining BIG4 and G’DAY Parks memberships — they pay off quickly if you’re on the road for a while. Plus, the perks like discounted stays and free upgrades can make your trip extra special.

BONUS TIP: Plan for Off-Season Travel
One of our favourite tricks? Travelling during the off-season. Not only do you avoid the crowds, but you also get better rates on everything — from caravan parks to tours. The more flexible the dates are, the better the deals.

And here’s the best part: Planning a budget-friendly adventure doesn't mean missing out on comfort. With a little preparation and insider knowledge, you can have an epic trip full of unforgettable memories without spending a fortune.
